When Allah will say, ”O Jesus son of Mary, recall My favor upon you and upon your mother, how I supported you with the Holy Spirit. You spoke to the people from the crib, and in maturity. How I taught you the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel. And recall that you molded from clay the shape of a bird, by My leave, and then you breathed into it, and it became a bird, by My leave.”

Först står det att Jesus ”spoke to the people from the crib”. Men det står ingenstans i Nya testamentet att Jesus som spädbarn talade till folket från en krubba. Så var fick Muhammad detta ifrån? Det mest troliga är att han fick det från skriften Arabic Infancy Gospel författad någon gång på 500-talet v.t.

We find what follows in the book of Joseph the high priest, who lived in the time of Christ. Some say that he is Caiaphas. He has said that Jesus spoke, and, indeed, when He was lying in His cradle said to Mary His mother: I am Jesus, the Son of God, the Logos, whom you have brought forth, as the Angel Gabriel announced to you; and my Father has sent me for the salvation of the world. (1)

Därefter står det i 5:110 att ”you (Jesus) molded from clay the shape of a bird”. Men inte heller detta kommer från Bibeln, utan orden är inspirerade av skriften Infancy Gospel of Thomas från mitten av det andra århundradet v.t. 

This child Jesus, when five years old, was playing in the ford of a mountain stream; and He collected the flowing waters into pools, and made them clear immediately, and by a word alone He made them obey Him. And having made some soft clay, He fashioned out of it twelve sparrows … Joseph, coming to the place and seeing, cried out to Him, saying: Why do you do on the Sabbath what it is not lawful to do? And Jesus clapped His hands, and cried out to the sparrows, and said to them: Off you go! And the sparrows flew, and went off crying. (2)

Att Jesus, vid fem års ålder, skulle ha gjort tolv sparvar av lera och gett dem liv låter gulligt, men är likväl en påhittad berättelse. Ett sådant mirakel kan logiskt sett inte ha skett eftersom det var först vid 30 års ålder, efter att Guds Ande kom över honom vid dopet (Matteus 3:16), som Jesus började göra mirakler (Apostlagärningarna 10:38). Jesus kunde alltså inte ha gjort en fågel av lera vid fem års ålder. Förmodligen hade Muhammad hört berättelsen av någon, trodde den kom från Bibeln, och tog därför med den i Koranen. Men det visar att han inte hade förmågan att skilja mellan det som var sant och det som var påhittat. Och det är inget bra kännetecken för någon som säger sig vara Guds sista profet.
